Cute Card Thursday - Thank You Card

Happy Thursday!

The challenge at Cute Card Thursday today is a Thank You Card. I decided to use the sketch from Just Magnolia (though I won't enter it in the challenge as I did not end up using a Magnolia stamp).

Ink: Copics
Paper: The Mariposa Collection (DCWV)
Accessories: Metallic rub-on, Spellbinders Classic Frames, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Copics Airbrush System, Flowers, Spellbinders Flying Beauties

I cut the butterfly, ran through again to emboss, and then left in the die while I airbrushed it with Copics.

Scavenger Hunt at 7 Kids College Fund

Have you heard? 7 Kids College Fund is have a Christmas Present Scavenger Hunt! Here is Tab's invitation...

Buying lots of gifts for others? How about buying some for yourself...and having some fun?!

As my Christmas gift to you, purchase a certain amount (amount will be indicated in the daily e-mail and vary by day) on each day up until Christmas (there will be a special event on Christmas day for the heartiest of shoppers), you will receive a different FREE item from the store each and every day! Of course, it wouldn't be fun to get the free item if you didn't have to do a little scavenging to find it!
So, here's the nitty gritty:
1) get the daily clue from each day's e-mail, the blog or facebook, and figure out the mystery free product
2) spend the daily amount in the store (if it is $50, you will need to have $50 in MERCHANDISE in your cart...does not include shipping or the scavenger/gift item)
3) add the mystery item to your cart
4) use the daily code to get your item for FREE!!!

DAY 1

Clue: I'm round and jolly like Santa's belly. I'm beaded and beautiful like a Christmas garland. I cut like a Christmas cookie cutter. What am I? (If you can't figure it out, e-mail me and I will help!)

Code: XMASPRESENT1

Rules: In order to get the DAY 1 CHRISTMAS PRESENT, you must purchase $100 or more in merchandise (not including shipping or the FREE item).
Thanks!

Sugar Creek Hollow - Mery Christmas!

Happy Saturday!

This will be the last post for Sugar Creek Hollow for this year. Our next two Saturdays are holidays, so we will break until the new year.

For my card today, I used a digi from Sugar Creek Hollow that I have not used yet. It is called Meowy Christmas. I just love this sweet little kitty, and it is perfect for my darling daughter who LOVES cats!

Stamps:  Meowy Christmas
Paper: Signature Christmas (My Mind's Eye), DCWV
Ink: Ink Jet Printer, Distress Ink
Accessories: Rock Candy Crackle Paint, flowers, branch punch, doilies, glittery embossing powders, Spellbinders Labels 4

I used the crackle paint and distress ink on the cat to age it a bit.

I used distress ink and glittery embossing powders on the doilies to dress them up.

And as every cat says, "Meowy Christmas."

Thanks for stopping by today. Check back Wednesday for the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge!

Cute Card Thursday #143 - One for the Kids

Happy Thursday!

Christmas is just around the corner, and this week, Cute Card Thursday asked us to make "One for the Kids." I decided to make an ornament for my sweet little great niece who is celebrating her first Christmas this year. Here is her ornament.

Paper: Figgy Pudding
Accessories: Cricut, Storybook cartridge, Tim Holtz Baroque die, Tim Holtz Ornate Plates, branch punch, flowers

I colored this sweet Tilda with distress inks. I added some tattered rose to her hair to give here a strawberry blond color (like my great niece).

I used gold paper to create letters for Anika's 1st Christmas. I added charms for extra pizazz.

I am also entering this in Magnolia Down Under Challenge (Red, Brown and Cream) and Magnolia-licious Highlites (A Word Project).

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Sugar Creek Hollow - Red and White Color Challenge

Happy Saturday!

Our challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow this week was to create a card using red and white. My red is really more of a burgundy, but this color really worked well for the Baby Jesus image.

Stamps: Baby Jesus Portrait, Christ Is Born
Paper: Faith Stack (Paper Studio)
Ink: Ink Jet Printer, Distress Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders Classic Frames, Pearls, ribbon, branch punch, flowers

I used Photoshop to change the image color, and then overlay the sentiment over the image. This is one of my favorite things about digis.

I added some pearl sprays to the ribbon to add just a little extra elegance.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great weekend!

Cute Card Thursday #142 - Floral Frenzy

Happy Thursday!

Today, the challenge at Cute Card Thursday is Floral Frenzy! Right up my alley as I love to use flowers on my cards. For my card, I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers. Here is the sketch...

and here is my card...

Stamps: Secret Tilda
Paper: Signature Christmas (My Mind's Eye)
Accessories: Spellbinders Scalloped Edge Frame, Stickles, Fun Flock, Glitter, Button

I used a flock/glitter combination over the Christmas tree to create a cool, winter scene.

I colored Tilda with a combination of Copics and Distress Inks.  I used white flowers to give the feel of mounds of snow.

I dry embossed the sections of tree to give it some dimension, and mounted it with silicone glue.

Just a little note...7 Kids College Fund has a nice savings code this week.
