Cute Card Thursday #157 - Sketch

Happy Thursday!

Our challenge at Cute Card Thursday this week is a sketch by Deb. Here is the sketch...
and here is my card...

Paper: DCWV,Floral Dreams (K&Co)
Accessories: Flowers, Pearls, Copics Airbrush System, lace, Branch Punch, doily

I love to experiment with different ways of coloring. I have always loved this beautiful style of coloring and wanted to give it a try. I just love the intense contrast with the light and dark.

I used my Copics Airbrush System to add color to some of my roses.

I added branches to my sentiment.

I used lace instead of ribbon which I really like as it gives a very soft elegance to the card.

I am also entering this in the following challenges:

A Spoonful of Sugar - Ribbons, Pearls/Rhinestones and Flowers
Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Mother's Day/Girlie Challenge (I went with girlie)

Cute Card Thursday #156 - Music Theme

Our challenge at Cute Card Thursday this week is Music Theme. We want you to be inspired by music. What does that mean to you? Show us YOUR interpretation.

I was inspired by a two stamps and how they work together. Here is my card...

Stamps: Tilda in Rubber Boots, Smarty Pants
Paper: Green at Heart (Basic Grey)
Accessories: Flowers, Pearls, Copics Airbrush System, Beautiful Wings Embosslitz Die (SU!), doily, Cricut Lacey Labels

These are the stamps that I think work so well together. Doesn't she look like she is doing the Hokey Pokey? And I love that saying, "What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about?"

This butterfly comes from the Beautiful Wings Embosslitz from Stampin' Up! I layered several of the butterflies for interest, and tied them all together with pearls.

You're probably getting tired of hearing this, but once again, I used my Copics Airbrush System to add color to my roses.

The sketch I used for this card is from the Just Magnolia Challenge...

I will also be entering this card in the following challenges...

Magnolia Down Under - Twos (Two DPs, two big roses, two small roses, two stamps, 12 butterflies (6 sets of 2 - okay, that's a stretch) Happy 2nd Birthday!

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Happy Birthday Dad

Just a little something to share today. I made this card for my father-in-law's birthday.

I created the scene with a set from Stampscapes. I airbrushed the image with my Copics and my Copics Airbrush System.

The bear is from Stampin' Up! I added flock to make him "furry."

The sentiment is also from Stampin' Up and was stamped on a die from Spellbinders Labels 4.

Thanks for stopping by today!

7 Kids College Fund - Mardi Gras

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for another 7 Kids College Fund Challenge.
.
Did you know that Mardi Gras falls on March 8 this year. To help celebrate Mardi Gras, we are using Mardi Gras Colors. I did some research and found some fun facts about Mardi Gras...

Mardi Gras occurs the day before Lent begins.
Mardi Gras is a French term, translated Fat Tuesday and was called this because it was the last day to "pig out" before Lent.
Mardi Gras is the last day of the Carnival Season before Ash Wednesday.
Mardi Gras has been celebrated since the middle ages.
Mardi Gras Colors have the following assigned meanings...
Purple - Justice
Green - Faith
Gold - Power

Here is my Mardi Gras card...

You can find the following items at 7 Kids College Fund...

 Ink: Memento, Copics

I colored Tilda with Copics, using the current technique challenge from Make It Colourful, "Light Source Top Left.:"  I really wanted to go with the Mardi Gras theme, so I used one of the dies from the Lattice Pendant set to fashion a mask. I used feathers and Stickles to decorate the mask, and a tooth pick for the handle. I added some pearls because you know Mardi Gras is all about the beads.

I used the Carte Postale set from SU! for the fleur de lis and the sentiment.

I included a picture from the side of the image that really shows off the Stickles.

I used the sketch from Just Magnolia...

Thanks for stopping by today.
