TOMIC and MIC Challenges

The inspiration for this card started with the Make It Colourful Challenge - Create Blades of Grass. I was particularly inspired by the FABULOUS picture by Chris Dark, their guest designer. So I picked up my paint brushes and distress inks and here is the result...

I used just about every green shade of distress ink in my possession. I wanted a lot of contrast and shadow with flowers in a beautiful field for Tilda and her lamb. I also included some Scattered Straw in the field. Tilda's jumper is a blend of Worn Lipstick, Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire. Her shirt is Scattered Straw and Barn Door.

 Stamps: Tilda With Lamb
Paper: Nature (K&Co)
Accessories: Stick pin, beads, cheese cloth, flowers, pearls, rhinestone flower

I love to add beaded stick pins. I think they add a nice flair.

Once the picture was done, I wanted a sketch challenge to give me a good base for the elements. I chose the great sketch from the TOMIC Challenge, and will be entering that challenge to use the sketch plus fabric.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great week!

Cute Card Thursday - What's New?

Happy Thursday!

This week, at Cute Card Thursday, our challenge is "What's New?" Our sponsor for this challenge is Love to Stamp (the home of Little Darlings).

Stamp: Go Team Go! (Little Darlings)
Paper: DCWV
Ink: Staz-On, Copics
Accessories: Sizzix Daisy Die 2, rhinestone brads, rhinestones, Prima flowers.

My new stamp is this cutie pie from Little Darlings - Go Team Go! Our dear friends have a daughter who is a cheerleader. Her school's colors are red and gold, so I made this card just for her.

I used my Sizzix Daisy Die 2 to create the flowers.

My intention was to carry the pompom theme throughout my card. You can see this reflected in the paper, the sentiment background, and the flowers.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges...

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful weekend.

7 Kids College Fund Challenge - Try Something New

Happy Wednesday!

It's a new year and time to try new things. Today at 7 Kids College Fund Challenge, we are asking you to try something new on your cards (a new coloring medium, a new technique, a new product).

For my card today, I used a coloring technique that is not exactly new, but one that I don't use very often. It is the Gamsol Magic technique using Prismacolor Pencils. I also used a new item (see the rose below).

You can find the following items at 7 Kids College Fund
Stamps: A Pen Friend
Accessories: Liquid Pearls

I used my Prismacolor Pencils to color A Pen Friend, and then used Gamsol to blend the colors.

The day after Christmas, I finally broke down and purchased the McGill Rose Paper Blossoms. The large rose is my first attempt at making my own roses with this punch set.

I will be entering this in the following challenges:
