Saturated Canary - Let It Snow

Howdy!

Today, I have another Christmas card to share.

This card uses a gorgeous new Saturated Canary image. The image was included in the Digital Crafting Essentials Magazine. The magazine comes with two CDs with various digital elements. The background papers were part of the digital package too. I just printed them out on cardstock. They work beatifully.

I used my Copics chart to pick the colors that most closely matched my papers. I dotted the background with C1, C3 and C5, B91, B0000 and V01. I used a Stampin' Up! background stamp to stamp the snowflakes around my images in pearly ink and added Liquid Pearls.

I added one small flower spray with some purple berries.

I used the Snowflake Doohickey times 2 with a blue rhinestone.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

After an extended and much needed break from the blog/craft world, I have finally found my way back to my craft room. I am so glad you have found me here.

For my first project in quite a while, I have a card for the Saturated Canary Sketch Challenge.

This adorable image is called The King from Saturated Canary. I colored the image with Copics.

The star was cut from chipboard. I added glue and gold Mica Fragments and the blank areas filled in with gold glitter.

Make It Crafty Valentine Blog Hop

Happy Friday!

Well, 2012 was a year of change in my life, and it looks like 2013 is going to continue to bring changes.

This will be my last post as a member of the Make It Crafty Design Team. The timing is good. There is so much coming up in the spring and summer; it will be good to have the time to take care of life outside the craft world. But don't worry, I will be around now and then, creating just for the love of creating. I hope having the extra time without deadlines will open up my creativity a bit and I will be able to explore new opportunities to grow.

MAKE IT CRAFTY VALENTINE BLOG HOP

The theme of today's blog hop is Valentines.

There will be special prizes throughout the blog hop, so be sure to leave some love on everyone's blog. The prizes for this blog hop will be from the new Geeky Love Wedding Collection. Zoe will give one image from the collection to 6 lucky winners. No telling which image will be where, but you have 6 chances to win one of the different images from the collection.

In addition, for a limited time, Zoe will offer 10% off ALL DIGI stamps. You just need to use coupon code VAL10. This will last until Monday, February 11, so hop on over to the store to get your digi stamps today.

My card today features an oldie but goody! It is called Geeky Love. I also used lots of my favorite embellishments, Chippies!

This cute Geeky Couple is colored with Copics.

The sentiment is one of Make It Crafty's adorable rubber stamps, Happy Days Tab Sentiments. I love these unique (and totally Zoe) sayings. I framed it with a label from the N2 Fancy Collection, painted with my paint dauber.

I used the Butterfly Leaves Chippies for my flowers.

The corner embellishments are Swirly Corners Chippies. Amanda shared a great idea with us to use nail polish on the chippies. It worked like a charm!

I hope you have fun on the blog hop!

Make It Crafty Blog Hop - Happy Australia Day

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!
If you have arrived here via the Make it Crafty Blog Hop, welcome to my blog. If you happened on this post and are not aware of the blog hop, welcome to you as well, and I invite you to check out the other great designer blogs to see their creations for Australia Day. You can start HERE.

There is a great surprise as part of this blog hop. There is a hidden price included on one of the blogs. So leave some love for each of the bloggers for your chance to win...

The Entire Australia Outback Collection!

One of the great things about being a craft blogger is the great people I get to meet from all over the world. The world becomes a lot smaller when you meet people who share your passion.

I have also had the opportunity to learn more about the different traditions from around the world, and today we celebrate one of those traditions. Saturday, January 26, is Australia Day. When Zoe challenged us to make cards for an Australia Day Blog Hop, I was intrigued. How do they celebrate Australia Day. I did a little research, and found it is very much like the Fourth of July in the US, but with a different flag. Lots of fun in the sun, fireworks, parties, face painting. Great fun!
I really wanted to represent the Australian flag in my creation, so I took Enchanted Unicorn from Make It Crafty and an Australian flag, and combined them in Photoshop. Here is the result...

In order to make the lines show up, I had to lighten the flag. I also added some hints of shadows and ground the image with Copics.

I used Microsoft Word - Word Art to create my sentiment. I included some chippies because I just LOVE chippies!

From here, you can go visit the store blog. And don't forget to leave some love for your chance to win!

Steampunk - Saturated Canary

Hi there!

I had some time today to craft without an agenda. No holidays, no birthdays, no challenges. You know what I mean...

I started coloring with my Copics. One of the images lead to more inspiration, and I created a decoration for my desk at work.

The image is from Saturated Canary. She is so cool and classy. One thing I love about Saturated Canary images is the detail she adds to the dresses. I love all the layers.

The paper is from the Mariposa Stack from DCWV. I layered Black Magic Coordinations and Gold Cardstock. I then sewed the three layers together and back it with a piece of chipboard.  I took some of my Chippies from Make it Crafty, added gold paint, and used them in the corners. I love how they bring elegance to any project.

I was going for a sepia feel when coloring the image. I used a variety of E's. It was completely out of the norm for me, and I really like the result. I need to find my way out of my box more often.

Rather than making a card, I made this a picture with an easel backing that can stand up at my desk. I am looking forward to more "No Reason" creating.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Make It Crafty - Red

Hi Everyone!
Today, I am sharing one of the lovely 60's girls from Make It Crafty. We were tasked to use RED, so this is Crystal in red.

I used Distress Ink to color Crystal. There are some details I need to work on. Detail can be difficult when watercoloring. I find the distress ink markers do help with the details.

I used the following products on my card:
Prima Clear Stamp
Tim Holtz Nature's Elements
Staz-On
Distress Inks and markers
Mariposa Stack - DCWV
Flowers
Spellbinders - Ovals and Scalloped Ovals
Leaf and Branch punches

Thank You - Saturated Canary

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope the new year is bringing great things your way. I have had a chance to get back in my craft room after the busy holidays, and I have a new card to share with you today.

This little cutie is Thank You from Saturated Canary.  I colored her with Copics. The paper is from the Mariposa Stack from DCWV. The butterfly and leaves are Chippies from Make It Crafty. I chose Prima Flowers, departing briefly from my usual roses.  I added some ribbon, lace and pearls, and voila!
